Fantastic article covering the deliberately allowed to happen (in my opinion) oddities of our age. It could also be an end of Empire thing. It certainly feels like a lot of people are bracing for impact. I don't we can manage a gentle decline or transition (not the gender type) once tipping points are reached. We're due for a massive correction especially in commercial real estate which has been postponed by the money printer and cheap loans ever since the last mini heart attack.

People know, even if they don't actually KNOW. Something has gone very sour with the American Dream/Experience. They are gaslighted in every possible way to ignore those feelings, but they're only getting more pronounced.

"Something wicked this way comes," might well be the motto for present-day America and the Americans who live here.

Agreed. If you can't feel it in your bones by now you're probably already dead!

You forgot the elimination of birthright citizenship as an inducement to illegal immigration. You don’t even have to get rid of it completely, just eliminate anchor babies for those here illegally and for all pending “asylum” claims. You only get an anchor baby if you are here legally when the baby is born. The end. Not complicated at all.

I didn't list every possibility under the "less carrot" aspect, but sure. That would definitely be there.

On the other hand, the global warming thing is much muddier. While their were some popular science musings about a new ice age in the 1970s, there were warnings about global warming that go back to the 1800s. Watch the movie "Soylent Green." Global warming figures in prominently.

The likely reality is that we were due for an ice age AND we prevented it by liberating carbon which had been sequestered over millions of years. Whether the Little Ice Age was the beginning of the next ice age is unknown. And the extent that we turned things around by modifying the atmosphere is also fuzzy, as climate is complicated.

It is safe to say that the effect of burning megatons of fossil fuels is likely to have a bigger global effect than either chemtrails or HAARP.

With an ice age pending, a bit of global warming is a Good Thing.

But it can also be true that too much of a Good Thing can become a Bad Thing.

I have constructed two Green Old Deals which are both far cheaper than the Green New Deal or resettling 100 million refugees from Bangladesh.

Want to be a Horrible Reactionary? Take the stances of LIBERALS from a half century or so ago.

I learned from my LIBERAL US history teacher the evilbigcorporations imported immigrants from ever more alien cultures in order to break strikes and keep wages and working conditions abysmal.

And for the tranny thing? 40 years ago I had an argument with a LIBERAL psych major over nature versus nurture. I pointed out that kittens display personality on Day One. She countered that humans do not have instincts, only drives. She said that the only immutable aspect of human personality was IQ. Gender stuff? Pure conditioning. Encourage a young boy to wear pink and play with dolls and you get a boy who behaves like a girl. She cited some researchers who did that to their boy child to prove the point.

In other words, today's Evil Dissident Right position is what used to be Liberal Settled Science not that long ago.

Given that a. I'm pushing 80, and b. I was still recovering from my wild-ass lefty childhood 50 years ago, yes, I do remember all of that.

"In other words, today's Evil Dissident Right position is what used to be Liberal Settled Science not that long ago."

That is true of quite of few things, I'm confused as to your take on the "immutable" thing, though. Her notion that gender expression was totally plastic seems more in line with today's lefty genderfuckery than anything resembling a Dissident Right position.

No, today's Settled Science is that there are girls born with a penis who NEED surgery to reconcile their immutable nature with the bodies they inhabit.

The old Settled Science says that grooming/imprinting can work. Gender is a Social Construct, etc.

Timothy Leary would treat gender dysphoria with a guided LSD session to undo a defective imprinting.

Not saying that Leary's therapy would necessarily work. Just saying that his ideas were once approved of by far left hippies, and now those ideas are closer to today's Right.

I'm still not quite getting it, maybe because of the ever-malleable nature of the jargon about our supposedly ever-malleable human natures. Have you noticed, though, that our "malleable human natures" seem to have remained essentially stable for thousands of years?

I would have thought that a proper dissident right POV might be, "If you're born with Y chromosomes, you are sexually male. If you believe otherwise, you are mentally ill."

Unless you are using "faulty imprinting" to mean "mentally ill." ;^)

A duckling that sees a human first thing coming out of the shell will follow that human as if it is momma duck. That is imprinting. Timothy Leary thought humans were subject to such imprinting, and if that imprinting was bad, you could use LSD to reopen the brain for a fresh imprint.

The claim by liberal science types back in the day was that most -- or even all -- our gender differences were due to upbringing. With the right upbringing, Donald Trump could have been a dress wearing sensitive sissy. It's the same old Tabula Rasa claim going back to the Enlightenment.

Today's woke Left is backing off the Tabula Rasa stuff when it comes to gender expression. Now such things are innate -- but not tied to biological sex, however.

I suspect that what we are seeing is a combination of evil training plus autism. The high functioning autists can take ideas WAY too seriously and are thus easier to talk into delusion. See the scene in "Rain Man" where Raymond refuses to fly any airline other than Quantas.

... childhood until he reached the age of 14, when his parents finally told him the truth. He immediately took up his natural sex, began calling himself David, and had surgery and other treatments to try to reverse the physical changes Money had inspired, (and which are much sought after by young mentally ill people, apparently).

In other words, Money was a liar, his theories exposed as so much hogwash, and eventually, even his role as serial pedophilic sexual abuser also came to light. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Money#Career_and_views

But he was a, if not the, primary source for, and progenitor of, all those theories about the plasticity of sex and its eventual conflation with gender.
